You can verify insurance eligibility for a new patient.

  1. In NextGen® Office PM, select Real Time > Eligibility Request.

    The Member Eligibility and Benefits page opens.

  2. Select the payer, and then select whether to search by subscriber or dependent.
  3. Enter the search criteria.
  4. Select Submit Transactions.

    The eligibility search results appear on the Eligibility Search Results Overview page.

    Note: You can manage the payer list in Administration: Payer Maintenance. Enrollments may be required.

View Eligibility Search Results and Create a Chart

You can view a patient's demographic information, status, plan information, co-pay summary, effective date, term date, and eligibility details on the Eligibility Search Results Overview page. You can also create a patient chart with the eligibility search results.

  • To view the claim status of a patient, select Claim Status.
  • To create a chart for a new patient, select Create Chart.
  • To view additional benefit information depending on the benefit category selected and the payer response protocol, select Select under Details.

  • To show details about the insurance plan, select Show Detailed Benefits for this Member.
