You can use Portal Calendar Management to configure calendars for display on the NextGen® Office Patient Portal. Portal calendars display a patient view of the provider’s calendar and enable the patient to select an open time slot when requesting an appointment. Portal calendar appointments display on the Practice Management calendar in pending status and must be approved by the scheduling staff.

Note: Only open time slots are displayed. Patients do not see existing appointments for other patients on the calendar.

calendarMgmt1 
  • From the PM menu bar, click Admin and then click Calendar Management.

  • To enable Portal Calendars for the selected resource, click edit icon.

  • Select the Calendar Resource Location(s) to be enabled as a Portal Calendar.
  • Select the Appointment Type to which all portal appointments will be assigned.
  • Select the Days and Time slots to be displayed on the Portal Calendar.

Note: Configuring days and times provides the flexibility to enable the specific days and time slots that are displayed on the Portal. For example, a calendar may be configured to only display time slots M–F 9:00AM–11:00AM and then also M–F 2:00PM–4:00PM.

calendarMgmt_resource 
  • To delete a selected row, click delete icon.
  • To add another row, click Add more.
  • To save, click Save Calendar Resource.
Three more rows are automatically added. If you click Add more before you click Save Calendar Resource, three more rows will be added.
