NextGen® Office EHR uses the Surescripts network to search for pharmacy benefits and eligibility data.
Navigate to Prescribe, Medication History, or Medication List
- In the encounter, click P on the SOAP menu and select Prescribe.
- In the encounter, click S on the SOAP menu and select Medication History.
- In the chart, click the Medication List tab.
Retail Pharmacy and Mail Order Pharmacy benefit information automatically populate from Surescripts real-time information.
- To view a patient's real-time eligibility information, click the button under PBM.
The system attempts to match the Surescripts data against the demographic data in your practice's patient database, and warns you if there is a mismatch.
- To view or download a PDF (depending on your browser settings) of the benefit eligibility, click Benefit Info.
