Instructions

NextGen® Office is integrated with Bamboo Health (formerly Appriss Health) to enable our providers to check their state's Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) database, which tracks controlled substance prescriptions. Providers must register with Bamboo Health. After registration is complete, Bamboo Health sends you the username and password that you enter in Administration: PDMP Vendor Credentials Management.

Best Practice Tip

Ensure that the NPI, DEA Number, and License State/Number that you use when registering for PDMP is the same as what you entered in Administration: Provider Maintenance.

Register with Bamboo Health

Make sure that you select PMP Gateway at minimum. PMP Gateway enables you to use to the PDMP Report module.

Note: If you are located in Massachusetts or Pennsylvania, additional steps are required.

Funded states: Some states sponsor the integration and the provider is not responsible.
Non-funded states: The provider must contract directly with Bamboo Health.

Clients in Funded States

Note: If you do not know whether you are in a funded state, visit the PDMP Integration Request website and see if your state is listed on the left side.

Tennessee clients must use their state's integration website.

  1. Visit the Customer Connect portal.
  2. Click Create an Account in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Log on and follow the on-screen prompts to provide the needed information for your integration request.
Multi-state clients can sign up for all states at the same time in the Facility Locations field.
  1. Sign all necessary agreements within the portal and complete your application.
Upon receipt of your completed application, Bamboo Health submits your request to the state for final approval. Upon state approval (approximately 2-4 weeks), credentials and a confirmation email are sent to your practice’s primary contact listed at the time of the registration request.

Clients in Non-Funded States

Non-funded states are states not listed on the left side of the PDMP Integration Request website.

  1. Visit the PDMP Integration Request website.
  2. Fill out the form on the right side.
For Primary EHR Software, select NextGen Office (formerly MediTouch/HealthFusion).

After you have completed the registration form, a link appears at the top of the screen for you to register for a product demo held by Bamboo Health. These meetings occur every Wednesday at 1:00 PM ET. You will also receive an email about the product demo.

You can let Bamboo Health know that you want the PMP Gateway report and skip the demo.

Once contracting has been completed, Bamboo Health submits your request to the state for final approval. Upon state approval (approximately 2-4 weeks), credentials and a confirmation email are sent to your practice’s primary contact listed at the time of the registration request.
