Encounters: Flow Sheets

Flow sheets are used to collect and store clinical data, often for tracking or trending progress. Flow sheets are very useful for documenting and graphing relevant data points for important patient conditions.

For instructions on how to create, document, and graph the data in a flow sheet, go to Patient Chart: Flow Sheets. The additional features in the encounter scenario are the options to add the flow sheet’s result history and graph to the encounter summary.

Add the Result History to the Encounter Summary

  • From the encounter, select O > Flow Sheets.
  • Select an existing flow sheet (or create a new flow sheet by selecting Start New Flow Sheet).
  • For instructions on how to create a new flow sheet, go to Patient Chart: Flow Sheets.
  • Select the Results checkbox. A confirmation message is displayed as Are you sure you want to add the results to the encounter?
  • To confirm, select OK
  • The flow sheet’s result history displays under the Objective section of the encounter summary.
