QuestionHave questions about custom check-in processes?
Answer

What is a custom check-in process?

The Administration: Custom Check-in Processes page enables you to create customized check-in processes for patients to complete on the Patient Portal. You can select which forms to present to patients in the Patient Portal that are specific to appointment types. Patients can then complete the documentation before the appointment, saving providers and staff time in the exam room.

How does custom check-in benefit our office?

The new features in Administration: Custom Check-in Processes enable you to create check-in processes specific to appointment types so that patients can complete more specific documentation before their visits.

For example, for pediatric clients, the office could create appointment types and custom check-in processes for each stage of well visits. Parents could then complete the information on the Patient Portal for their children, populating the note for the medical team.

Is there a limit to the number of custom check-in processes that I can create?

No. You can create as many check-in processes and appointment types as you need.

What happens if I do not associate an appointment with a custom check-in process?

To keep user behavior the same, we have introduced the concept of a Standard Check-in Process. The forms associated with the Standard Check-in Process is automatically presented to the patient in the Patient Portal with appointment types and times not associated with a custom check-in process.

Do I have to associate forms with a custom check-in process?

No. You can create a custom check-in process without associated forms. This check-in process will not be presented to any patients until you associate at least one appointment type to the custom check-in process.

What happens if I delete a custom check-in process?

The custom check-in process is no longer available. The associated appointment types will be associated with the Standard Check-in Process.
