Encounters May Be Signed by Individuals without Signing Permissions

Known Issue #
KI202546
Released Date

Issue
NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue in NextGen® Office where encounters may be signed by users without the required system permissions.

Steps to Recreate the Issue
  1. Open NextGen Office, and log on as a user who has permission to sign encounters.
  2. In that same browser tab, open an Encounter Summary Preview page that needs a signature.
  3. Open a second tab in that same browser, and log on to NextGen® Office PM with a user ID that does not have permission to sign encounters.
  4. In the first browser tab, select Sign on the encounter.
Signed By incorrectly shows the user from step 3.

Actions Required
Until this issue is fixed, the user should ensure that they are logged off before another user logs on. Additionally, authorized users with signing permissions may reopen an affected encounter and then have the encounter resigned (or re-cosigned) by an appropriate signer.

Status
This issue was resolved on July 11, 2024.
