Creating a New Chart for a Patient Who Has the Same First and Last Name as an Existing Patient May Remove Appointment Electronic Notifications for the Created Patient in NextGen® Office PM

Issue
NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue with NextGen® Office that occurs when creating a new chart for a patient who has the same first and last name as an existing patient. As a result, appointment electronic notifications are removed for the created patient in NextGen® Office PM.
Steps to Recreate the Issue
- Create or open a patient chart in NextGen Office PM with an electronic notification.
- Select Patients, and then select Register a New Patient.
- Create a duplicate chart using the first and last name of a patient already in the account.
- Ensure that Electronic Notifications is selected, and select Save Changes.
The Possible Duplicate Patient Record message appears.
- Select New, and then select Continue with Selected Record.
The chart no longer has Electronic Notifications selected.
Actions Required
Until the issue is fixed, users can reselect the electronic notifications they want to receive.

This issue will be fixed in a future release.
