Known Issue #

Issue
In NextGen® Office EHR, when you unlink a patient chart from a staff message or task, the patient chart is unlinked from the message or task, but a duplicate message or task is created with the current date and time. The message or task should be removed from the patient chart.
Steps to Reproduce
The patient chart must contain a task or a message not intended for the patient.
- In NextGen Office EHR, open a patient chart.
- Select the Tasks & Messages tab.
- Open a staff message or a task.
- To remove the patient chart from the message or task, select Unlink Patient Chart
in the chart attachment. - Select Proceed.
The patient chart is removed, but a duplicate message is created with the current date and time (and appears in the History section).
- Select Close.
- Open the same patient's chart.
- Select the Tasks & Messages tab.
The duplicate message or task with the current date and time appears within the Staff Messages tab or Tasks tab, respectively.
Action Required
There is no workaround to delete the message from the patient chart. Clients can update the subject of the message or task or send a new message advising the medical staff that the message or task is for the incorrect patient chart and should be ignored.
