Underweight Flag May Not Appear in Encounter Summary for Pediatric Patients Whose Weight Is Flagged as Underweight in Vital Signs

Issue
In NextGen® Office EHR, the underweight flag may not appear in the Encounter Summary Preview or the clinical summary PDF for pediatric patients whose weight is flagged as underweight in Vital Signs.
Steps to Reproduce
- In a pediatric patient's encounter, click O on the SOAP menu and select Vital Signs.
- Click Enter Vitals.
- Click Additional Information.
- Enter a weight so that the underweight flag appears. In our example (a four-year-old boy), we entered 38 inches for Height and 25 pounds 2 ounces for Weight.
The underweight flag appears.
- Click Save.
- Click Encounter #.
The underweight flag does not appear in the Vital Signs section.
Action Required
Clinical staff are advised that the flag may not appear and that they should individually assess the BMI value without relying on the flag to highlight an abnormal value.
