Release Date

Known Issue #

Issue
In NextGen® Office EHR, if you enter a significant number of characters (more than 152 characters depending on the characters used) in the comments field in obstetric observations, the character limit alert does not appear, and the browser shows a "404 error." Since the alert does not appear, you are able to save the data, but you are not informed that the data within the obstetric observations may get truncated on the antepartum report form.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open an encounter for a pregnant patient.
- Click O on the SOAP menu and select Physical Exam.
- Click the Obstetric tab.
- In the Comments field of the Observations section, quickly paste a significant amount of text (more than 152 characters depending on the characters used) .
The character limit alert does not appear, and the browser shows a "404 error."
Action Required
Character counts above 152 (depending on the characters used) may result in truncated observation notes.
The NextGen Office team recommends the following for all providers who have exported antepartum reports for their patients:
- Review antepartum reports to verify that observation notes were not truncated.
- If observation notes do appear truncated, update the observation notes in the patient’s encounter and then export an updated antepartum report.
