Sig Is Not Sent to Pharmacy When E-prescribing Medications with Film, Gum, or Implant Formulations

Release Date

November 3, 2022

Known Issue #

KI198971

Issue

In NextGen® Office EHR, when users e-prescribe medications with film, gum, or implant formulations and enter both a structured sig and additional sig, the sig appears on the Medication module pages, but is not sent to the pharmacy. Only the additional sig is sent to the pharmacy. When the user enters only the structured sig, the structured sig is sent to the pharmacy.

Steps to Reproduce

E-prescribe a medication with a film, gum, or implant formulation (for example, Suboxone 8 mg-2 mg sublingual film) and enter both a structured sig and additional sig.

Action Required

If an additional sig is required, include the structured sig as part of the additional sig. If no additional sig is needed, the standard structured sig fields may be used without issue.
