Pharmacy Renewal Fails for Prescribers When Account Location and Prescription Renewal Location Differ
Release Date
May 15, 2019
Known Issue #
KI183614
Issue
In NextGen® Office EHR, when a prescriber with supervisor (NP, PA) with more than one prescribing location renews a prescription, and the prescriber’s account location and the prescription renewal location differ, the prescription renewal electronically sent to NewCrop does not contain the prescriber's details; only the supervisor's details. NewCrop returns the renewal request with a failure status.
Steps to Reproduce
- From the Pharmacy Alerts: Pharmacy Messages page, select the check box for the pharmacy renewal.
- Click Approve.
- Click the Prescriber Report tab.
- For Status, click Failure.
- Click the prescription renewal’s row.
Action Required
- Change the user account's location so that it matches the prescription renewal location.
- Deny and rewrite the prescription.
- Click the patient's name.
You are navigated to the Renewal Request.
- Click Deny & Rewrite.
You are navigated to Medication List where you can prescribe the medication again for the patient.
