Pharmacy Alert Shows for an Archived Provider but Pharmacy Message Does Not Show

Release Date

December 21, 2021

Known Issue #

KI194044

Issue

In NextGen® Office EHR, a pharmacy alert appears for an archived provider, but when the user clicks rx alerts yellow icon to view the pharmacy request, no message appears in Pharmacy Messages. This issue occurs for practices who have an archived provider who is still receiving requests from the patient's pharmacy.

Steps to Reproduce

Click rx alerts yellow icon to view the pharmacy message, but no message appears in Pharmacy Messages

Action Required

The practice should do the following:

  • To view the message, reactivate the provider in Administration: Provider Maintenance. If you cannot reactivate the provider, contact Client Support for assistance in obtaining a temporary provider license.
  • To prevent further requests to the archived provider for this patient/medication, deny the request (RenewRx or RxChange) and write a NewRx for the patient by a prescriber (who will not be archived) so that future messages will not be sent to the archived provider.
