Ordering a Radiological Test May Not Alert the User of Potential Allergies

Known Issue #

KI203925

Release Date

October 9, 2024

Issue

NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue with NextGen® Office EHR where ordering any radiological tests won’t check the patient’s active allergies to alert for any possible interactions.

Steps to Recreate the Issue

Note: In NextGen® Office PM, ensure that Radiology panels include at least one test that includes iodinated contrast or dye.

  1. Create or open a patient chart that has a documented allergy to contrast media, and then create an encounter.
  2. Select P > Orders > New Radiology.
  3. Select the Orders tab.
  4. Under New Orders, select Radiology.
  5. Select an ICD-10 code.
  6. Select a facility.
  7. Select a radiologic study/test that includes any iodinated contrast or dye.
  8. Select Create Order.

No alert appears, and the allergies are not displayed anywhere on the ordering page.

Actions Required

Until this issue is fixed, and as a matter of routine, users should manually check the patient allergy list from the blue tab above the SOAP menu.

Status

This issue is fixed and deployed to production on  24th April, 2025.
