The Open Encounters Tab Allows Users Access to the SOAP Menu with a Reopened Format and Sign Encounter

Known Issue #

KI203922

Published Date

12/20/2024

Issue

NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue with NextGen® Office where the Open Encounters tab allows users to access the SOAP menu with a Reopened Format and Sign encounter; as a result, data changed while in Format and Sign is not displayed in the Encounter Preview or Encounter PDF.

Steps to Recreate the Issue

  1. Create or open a patient chart, and then select the Encounter tab.
  2. Create or open an encounter.
  3. Select Format and Sign.
  4. Save
  5. Reopen the encounter, and then open the Dashboard.
  6. Select the Open Encounters tab, and then select the encounter from step 4.

The SOAP tabs are still active, but they should be unavailable. Any data saved in the SOAP tabs does not appear in the Encounter Preview or the Encounter PDF.

Actions Required

Until this issue is fixed, users should avoid using Format and Sign if possible. Alternatively, if the encounter was a Format and Sign encounter, users must make changes in Format and Sign for the encounter by entering the encounter through the chart, instead of the Open Encounters tab.

Status

This issue was fixed on 24 April 2025.
