Potential Patient Safety
Missing Appointment Information in HL7 Message Causes Integration Failure
Release Date
June 19, 2023
Known Issue #
KI200113
Issue
In NextGen® Office PM, when practices change the provider's name, practice location, or appointment type, the HL7 message fails, and practices do not receive appointment information from third-party vendors who are using provider name, practice location, or appointment type as matching criteria instead of provider ID, location ID, or appointment ID. Some affected third-party vendors are Doctible, Centennial Medical, BioReference Lab, CPL Lab, Vibra Health, and Konica Minolta, who match providers, location, and appointment type by name and not by ID. Appointment reminder alerts, appointment status, and changes from the third-party vendor to NextGen Office PM may fail. Patients may not receive appointment reminder alerts from Doctible.
Action Required
If your practice uses a third-party integration, to prevent or resolve this issue, synchronize location name, appointment type, provider name, calendar resource names, and IDs with third-party integration vendors every time you make changes.
