Lab Order Results Are Not Received When Patient's Middle Initial Is Sent in ORU Message
Release Date

Known Issue #
KI175301
Issue
In NextGen® Office EHR, users are not receiving lab order results in lab orders that are sent with the patient's middle initial in the ORU message (structured clinical data between systems regarding electronic results). The order is sent out with a middle initial, but when the result is returned, the middle initial is omitted, which causes the inbound result message to fail. The lab results for that order are therefore not populated in our system.
Status
We fixed this issue on February 28, 2019. These messages will now go into your Unmatched Results filter on the Orders page. You can then manually match the result to the patient. If you are still missing results, contact your lab vendor to have them resend the results.
