Financial Reports Are Missing Data

Known Issue #

Issue
We have been evaluating issues with the Reports module in NextGen® Office Practice Management. Over the last month, we have learned more about these issues. We published a Newsflash on February 3, 2020 (Non-Transaction Summary Reports Are Missing Data), regarding issues with non-transaction summary reports missing data in columns (provider, patient, location). Since then, we have learned that there are also missing data in one or more rows and that more reports are affected. All financial reports are affected (all Accounts Receivable, Charge, Payment, or Transaction reports except the AR Roll Forward reports).
Steps to Reproduce
- In Reports, select Accounts Receivable, Charge, Payment, or Transaction for the Report Type and any report except the AR Roll Forward reports for Report Name.
- In the Reporting Period section, for Date Type, select the Ledger Date option.
- For Time Period, select This Year Start.
- Click Generate Report.
There are missing rows or inaccurate data in rows.
Action Required
We recommend performing checks and balances whenever possible. Below are some options to help.
- Validate transaction totals. We recommend that you run the AR Roll Forward by Practice report (transactions based on ledger date) and the Transaction Details Analysis Grid and then compare the totals. The AR Roll Forward report snapshot is not affected by these issues, and is therefore one of the best reports to validate that the data in these other reports are accurate.
- The Daily Payment Analysis Grid is the other financial report that is not affected by this issue.
- Perform a Payment Search.
- Hover over the Billing menu, hover over Payments, and then select Search Payments.
- Search by Payment Date, Post Date, or Deposit Date to see if payment amounts accurately appear.
