Issue
When you are in NextGen® Office EHR and are using two tabs or two windows within the same browser and are editing an encounter-specific page note (e.g., Chief Complaint, Physical Exam, Assessment) in one tab while opening the same patient chart in another tab, the page note shows as saved in the first tab, but does not get saved to the encounter.
Steps to Reproduce
Note: Our example uses the
Physical Exam page, but this issue may affect other pages within the encounter.
- Log in to NextGen Office.
- In EHR, in Patient Tracker, click the appointment time to open the patient's encounter.
- Click O on the SOAP menu and select Physical Exam.
- Edit and save the page note.
- Edit the note again, but do not save the note yet.
- Open a duplicate tab in the same browser or open a new tab in the same browser and log in to NextGen Office.
- In EHR, in Patient Tracker, click the patient's name to open the patient's chart.
- Return to the first browser tab and save the Physical Exam note that is still in edit status.
The note shows as saved.
- Click the Encounter #.
- Click Clinical Summary.
The clinical summary shows as stuck in loading.
- Return to the second browser tab and click the same encounter as the first browser tab.
- Click O on the SOAP menu and select Physical Exam.
The page note that showed as saved in the first browser tab does not show in the second browser tab.
