Electronic Prescription Fails When Replacing a Renewal Request with a New Prescription with Zero Refills

Issue

In NextGen® Office EHR, when a user replaces a renewal request with a new prescription and the number of refills equals zero, the electronic prescription fails.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In Pharmacy Messages, click the patient's name.
  2. Below the Renewal Request, click Replace.
  3. E-prescribe the new medication and leave the value in the Refills field as 0.

The electronic prescription fails. The renewal request status shows Failure (Fail:Pharmacy:Could not populate PharmCom object).

Action Required

In the new prescription, enter the refill count as ≥1.

This issue was fixed on July 14, 2022.
