Custom Form Patient Instructions Do Not Export Correctly in the C-CDA File

Issue

In NextGen® Office EHR, custom form patient instructions are not exporting correctly in the C-CDA file. The C-CDA is not showing the patient instruction’s complete narrative.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Confirm that the practice has the Patient Instructions custom form.
  2. Start encounter.
  3. Document patient instructions using the custom form.
  4. From the Encounter Summary Preview, click Clinical Summary.
  5. Click Preview CCDA.
  6. View the human-readable HTML version of the C-CDA file.

The human-readable HTML version of the C-CDA file does not show the full narrative and shows additional formatting from the code base.

Action Required

There is currently no workaround for this issue. Providers can view or export patient instructions in the clinical summary PDF.

This issue was fixed on December 20, 2019
