Potential Non-Critical Urgent
Clinical Summary PDF Does Not Show Primary Insurance from Date of Service If Primary Insurance Is Updated
Release Date

Known Issue #

Issue
In NextGen® Office EHR, when a user updates the patient's primary insurance after the encounter is signed, the primary insurance in the clinical summary PDF changes to the updated insurance. The primary insurance in Encounter Summary Preview does not change, therefore the insurance information in the clinical summary PDF does not match the Encounter Summary Preview.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an encounter
- Sign the encounter.
- Change the primary insurance.
- View the signed encounter.
The primary insurance remains the same as what was used at date of service. It does not change to the updated insurance. However, if you export the clinical summary PDF, the insurance changes to the most updated insurance. The print preview is not affected.
Action Required
Use the Print Preview version of the encounter if you do not need the electronic signature and timestamp. If you do need the electronically signed clinical summary PDF with the timestamp, you must change the insurance to what the patient used during the date of service, export the PDF, and then change the insurance back to the updated insurance.
