Issue
In NextGen® Office Practice Management, when users create a claim, the CLIA number does not appear in the claim form. The CLIA number is not defaulting from the location in the claim. The CLIA number must appear on all laboratory claims, otherwise the claim cannot be further processed.
Steps to Reproduce
Prerequisite: Create a location and add the CLIA number for the location.
Issue 1 – CLIA number does not appear when you generate a claim
- On the Charge Entry page, click the Billing & Providers tab.
In the Encounter section, the Location appears.
- Click the Additional Info tab.
The CLIA certification No. for the location does not appear.
- Click the Service Lines tab and enter the diagnosis and procedure codes.
- Click Create Claim.
- On the Claim Status: Search Results page, under Claim Summary, click Print the claim.
The CLIA number does not appear in the Prior Authorization Number field (box 23) of the claim form.
Issue 2 – Warning message does not appear when you update the location
- On the Charge Entry page, click the Billing & Providers tab.
- Select a different location.
A warning does not appear when the location is changed since there is no CLIA number defaulting in the claim.
Action Required
- Click the Additional Info tab.
- In the Additional Information section, select CLIA certification No. from the select menu.
- Enter the CLIA number.
