Allergies Do Not Show When Prescribing Medications

Release Date

April 12, 2021

Known Issue #

KI197088

Issue

In NextGen® Office EHR, a documented allergy in the Allergies module does not show on the Medication List for some patients. Users are therefore not alerted to the patient's allergy on the Medication List. The drug-to-allergy interaction alert on the Medication Sig page is not impacted. Encounter Summary Preview, clinical summary PDF, and clinical summary C-CDA also are not impacted.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In an affected patient's chart, click the Allergies tab.
The No Known Allergies button is disabled and The patient has no known allergies shows on the page.
  1. Navigate to a Medication module page by doing one of the following:
    • In the chart, click the Medication List tab.
    • In the encounter, click S on the SOAP menu and select either Prescribe or Medication History.
The patient has no active allergies shows on the page.
  1. Return to the Allergies page and click Add Allergy Status.
  2. Click to select an allergy.
  3. Click to select an Adverse Reaction and select an optional Onset Date.
  4. Click Back To Allergy List.
The patient has no known allergies still shows on the page even though an allergen is listed.
  1. Return to the Medication ListPrescribe, or Medication History page.

The patient has no active allergies still shows on the page. The page should show the active allergies as shown below.
