A Task Associated with an Incorrect Patient Cannot Be Deleted from the Incorrect Patient's Chart

Release Date

Known Issue #

KI177721

Issue

In NextGen® Office EHR, when a user creates a task and inadvertently associates the task with the wrong patient, the user cannot change the patient or delete the task from the incorrect patient’s chart. Even if the user deletes the task from Tasks & Messages, it does not get removed from the incorrect patient’s chart.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a task.
  2. In the Patient field, enter an incorrect patient’s name.
  3. Click Save.

You can delete the task from Tasks & Messages, but you cannot delete the task from the incorrect patient’s chart.

Action Required

Verify which patient you are selecting to associate with the task because the task cannot be removed from the chart after it is created.
