Resubmitting Claims to an Archived or Deleted Insurance May Incorrectly Cause the Claim to Have an Incorrect Insurance ID

Known Issue #
KI203268

Release Date
May 29, 2024

Issue
NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue with NextGen® Office PM where resubmitting claims to an archived or deleted insurance causes the claim to have an insurance ID from an active insurance payer/profile.
Steps to Recreate the Issue
  1. Open NextGen Office PM, create or open a patient chart.
  2. Select View /Edit Details, and then select Insurance Information.
  3. Add an insurance profile with an Insurance ID of 123.
  4. Submit a claim for the created profile, and then either archive the insurance by selecting the file folder or remove the insurance profile by selecting the recycling bin.
  5. Add a second new insurance profile with an Insurance ID of 456.
  6. Resubmit the claim from step 4.
The insurance ID for the resubmitted claim is 456 instead of 123.

Actions Required
Until this issue is resolved, users should avoid archiving or deleting insurance profiles that may require submission.  If a user needs to resubmit a claim where an insurance has been archived, users can reactivate the insurance by going to the Insurance Information section in the patient’s practice management chart, select Show Archived, and then selecting the file folder.  If the insurance was removed, users can select Add Insurance Profile, add the same insurance name and ID, and then select Save.  An alert will appear saying a profile was already created and asking if you would like to update the deleted insurance profile. Select Update.  The insurance will return in an active status.

Status
This issue was resolved on September 05, 2024.
