Administration: Procedure Panels
This Procedure Panels feature allows users to set up procedure code panels for the most commonly used CPT codes. This will increase the speed at which a provider is able to move though the procedure coding portion of an encounter. Default procedure code panels are supplied to the user and thus this section is recommended but not required. The Procedure Panels setup provides the ability to view and/or edit the Practice Default Settings and the Provider Custom Settings.
- Select Procedure Panels from the Admin page.
Practice Default Settings
The Practice Default Settings is a set of common procedures supplied by 000066525 to be used throughout the EHR. This procedures panel can be customized by adding or removing procedures.
- Use the plus and minus signs to expand and collapse the Practice Default Settings and Provider Custom Settings sections.
- Note the Custom and Default Panel sections.
Edit a Custom Panel
- Expand a Custom Panel by clicking on the panel name.
- Click Edit to edit the panel, or Delete to delete the panel.
- If Edit is selected, enter the code or select the code range from the drop-down menu.
- Click Search.
- Double click the code to add it to the panel.
- Uncheck the box next to a procedure before clicking Save” to remove that procedure from the panel. All check marked procedures will be saved.
- Enter/edit Units, Modifiers and NDC codes if desired. These changes will be reflected in the EHR.
Edit a Default Panel
- Expand a Default Panel by clicking on the panel name.
- Select Edit to edit the panel or Archive to remove the panel from the EHR procedure coding panels.
- If Archive was selected, the option to restore the panel is available.
- If Edit was selected, enter a code or search term or select a code range from the drop-down menu.
- Click Search.
- Double-click the procedure to add it to the panel.
- Uncheck the box next to a procedure before clicking Save to remove that procedure from the panel. All check marked procedures will be saved.
- Enter/edit Units, Modifiers and NDC codes if desired. These changes will be reflected in the EHR.
Add a New Procedure Code Panel
- To begin a new procedure code panel, click New Procedure Code Panel.
- Enter the panel name.
- Select Show codes or Show select menus with buttons.
- If Show codes is selected, search for and add procedures as explained above. Add Units, Modifiers and NDC codes if desired.
- If Show select menus with buttons is selected, enter the submenu names and ensure that the boxes to their left are checked before clicking Save. Click More to add additional submenus.
Upload a Procedure Code Panel
- To upload a procedure code panel, click Upload Procedure Code Panels.
- Select a provider from the dropdown menu.
- Click Download sample file to download a sample file in Excel.
- Open the sample file in Excel.
- Follow the instructions provided.
- Browse for the desired file and click Upload.
Provider Custom Settings
The Provider Custom Settings is the customized set of procedures for a specific provider(s). Each provider may have his or her own tailored set of procedures. When adding procedures to a patient chart, this custom defined procedures panel is displayed instead of the Practice Default.
- Click the + icons to expand the panels for a selected provider.
- Click Remove to remove a provider section
- Providers that do not yet have panels are located in the drop-down menu. To customize the settings for a new provider, select the provider from the menu and click Create.
- Edit the Custom and Default panels as explained above.
