This article describes how to set up your printer to print paper claims on a CMS-1500 claim form.
Requirements
- CMS-1500 claim form
- Supported browsers are Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
- Browsers must allow pop-ups.
- Disable the Chrome or Firefox PDF viewer. For instructions, refer to Recommended Browser PDF Settings.
- Always use the first test claim as a starting point.
Open Administration: Printer Configuration
In PM, click Admin > Printer Configuration.
Configure a Printer

Click Add a Printer.
Note: You can edit
or archive
printers that you have already configured.
- Enter the Name of the printer.
- Select the Manufacturer and Model. If the printer’s manufacturer is not shown, select Other.
- Select the check box next to 2.
- Load the printer with a CMS-1500 claim form.
- Click Print Test Claim.
- Open the downloaded PDF.
- Print the PDF.
- Set the page size to Actual size and the orientation to Auto.
- Review the test claim from the printer. When the test claim is correctly aligned, click Save Printer Settings. If the test claim is not aligned, use the Printer Alignment Wizard.
Printer Alignment Wizard
- Click Printer Alignment Wizard.
- To properly align the data, click Up, Down, Right, or Left until it looks like your printed test claim.
- Once the screen looks like the first test claim, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Print Test Claim. Repeat the previous steps to get the perfect alignment.
- When the claim is correctly aligned, click Save Printer Settings.
